In this unique camp experience, Minecraft will be our springboard for teaching Coding, Math and Art skills with lots of fun and creative explorations. Students will learn computational thinking and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) education while having FUN! Camp projects include:
• Creating Minecraft themed animations with MIT visual programming
• Programming ‘Steve’, ‘Creeper’ and other Minecraft Mobs (using Robots) to complete challenges with Google visual programming
• Solving coding puzzles and challenges through Minecraft Game-Based Learning
• Off-screen activities including hands-on Minecraft-inspired art projects, Minecraft mathematical quizzes, mazes and puzzles, and lots more!
10:1 Ratio Guarantee
We keep the class size small, ratio of 10:1 though we often have extra mentors in the room making it 5:1. This provides more personalized attention to each student and an environment which can support holistic learning.
According to a study, students who practice what they’re learning in a hands-on environment can often retain three and half times as much as opposed to just sitting in a lecture room and listening intently. We find that providing hands-on experiential learning environment, students are better engaged and more inquisitive.
What Next After the Camp?
Just like learning a new language, learning to code is best done through an immersive and continual commitment. We offer follow on curriculum for immersive learning that allows students to deepen and broaden their interests in computer science and coding.
